2020 FINAL YEAR FOR PHASE 2 STRATEGIC PLAN

2020 FINAL YEAR FOR PHASE 2 STRATEGIC PLAN

“This year is the final year for the Phase II Strategic Plan (2016-2020), so I have high hopes that the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Indicators (PIs) targeted for this plan can be achieved before taking the next challenging phase” , said the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato 'Dr. Ahmad Bashawir Abdul Ghani during the UUM Strategic Plan Achievement Presentation Meeting for 2019 at the Senate Meeting Room, yesterday.

According to him, the presentation of the UUM Strategic Plan 2019 is a continuation of the achievements of the first quarter, second quarter and third quarter which are guided by four (4) core thrusts, namely Thrust 1 (Enhancing Scholarship and Internationalisation); Thrust 2 (Human Capital Development and Talent Management); Thrust 3 (Building Students Holistically) and Thrust 4 (Generating Wealth) covering 183 PIs.

“I acknowledge the fact that it is not easy to achieve every PI that has been set because some of the PIs are very challenging, but I am confident that unremitting hard work will definitely yield positive results.

"Therefore, I hope, the Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) and all Centres of Authority (PTJ) involved can work together towards ensuring that every planned agenda can be implemented effectively," he said.

He also expressed his appreciation for the perseverance of all parties and stated that there is still much to be done to make UUM the Eminent Management University.

According to him, he hopes that the morale shown will continue in realising every trust entrusted in its capacity as an individual, department, school, college as well as university.

Meanwhile, the Director of IPQ, Prof. Dr. Sany Sanuri Mohd Mokhtar said that the Corporate Planning Division, the Institute of Quality Management is the main secretariat for the UUM Strategic Plan and shall strive to ensure that the strategic plan can support the university agenda.

“If any PTJs and Schools need a clearer explanation related to the Strategic Plan 2020, the IPQ is ready to accept invitations for that purpose.

"Reviews can be made through the Strategic Planning Information System (SPIS) portal and IPQ itself is open to receive visits from PTJs and Schools in terms of data management in the hope that the quality of the data reported can be improved in the 2020 presentation," he said.
