WEBINAR DISCUSSES PUBLIC SERVICE, INDUSTRIAL AND PROFESSIONAL ISSUES

The Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) in collaboration with the School of Business Management (SBM) organised a Webinar entitled 'Optimizing Productivity for Services Delivery Excellence' via IPQ's official Facebook and Webex platform.

The webinar was officiated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah who is performing the duties of Vice-Chancellor. In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah stated that, in keeping with the webinar's theme, it was time for organisations to review their current work process methods to keep up with a more dynamic work environment.

According to him, experience in implementing various methods and technology-based alternative techniques in the face of crisis, can aid in the development and improvement of processes into hybrid procedures for the best results.

“I am confident that implementing these existing process improvements will increase overall productivity and service delivery excellence.

"Productivity and service delivery are inextricably linked. When productivity is at its peak, customer or stakeholder demands can be identified, and as a result, service mechanisms can be streamlined, indirectly improving service delivery," he stated.

A total of three panellists were invited to share their thoughts and insights on issues pertaining to public service, industry, and professionals. Among the invited speakers were the Kedah State Secretary who is also a Member of the University Board of Directors, Dato’ Ammar Dato' Shaik Mahmood Naim; Maybank Group Chief Human Capital Officer cum Adjunct Professor of SBM, Datuk Nora A Manaf and Director of Productivity and Competitiveness Development (PCD), Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Dr. Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam.

The webinar drew officials from both the public and private sectors, as well as students and academics from local universities and ASEAN University Network member countries (AUN).
