UUM RECORDS ZERO NCR IN THE SIRIM QAS SURVEILLANCE AUDIT

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) successfully completed the SIRIM QAS MS ISO 9001: 2015 Surveillance Audit, conducted over three days that began on 7 October, without receiving any ‘Non-Conformity Report’ (NCR).

The Chief Auditor of SIRIM QAS, Mdm. Hasnida Ghazali, announced that the audit results revealed that UUM did not receive any NCR. However, two written reports, namely 'Opportunities for Improvement' (OFI), were issued.

According to her, the first OFI pertains to the monitoring of production and service delivery, which encompasses the teaching and learning process (T&L). The second relates to the CQI document reporting format in the OBE system.

She said that, overall, UUM effectively managed the quality system well and took appropriate actions to ensure the seamless operation of the services provided.

"Congratulations to UUM for the commendable effort taken by the Risk Management Division in incorporating climate change issues into the audit, demonstrating that UUM is making progress in this area.

I extend my gratitude to all, particularly the Quality Management and Accreditation Centre (PPQA) for their unwavering commitment throughout the surveillance audit. Additionally, congratulations are in order for UUM's internal audit and self-audit efforts that have resulted in zero NCR," she said at the close of the SIRIM QAS Audit Meeting at the Senate Room yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, expressed his gratitude to the SIRIM auditors for their tenacity and diligence throughout the three days.

According to him, UUM strives to comply with all audits conducted to ensure that standards are met.

Also present at the event were the Director of PPQA, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Haniff Jedin, the heads of various centres of authority, and the deans of schools.
